Miss B’s offers a club program with drop off classes Monday to Saturday every morning or afternoon for children aged between two and five years.
We offer a progressive curriculum with an emphasis on learning through play, nature, and the arts.

ABOUT MISS B’S
Founder, Sara Brennan
Miss B’s Children’s Club was founded in 2025 in Summerland, California, as a sanctuary for little ones to gather, play and grow: a community built on trust and led by teachers who share my philosophy.
My work with young children and families began in England, where I was born and educated. I graduated from Durham University in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in Primary Education, and went on to work in London as a teacher and nanny while developing my own schools and early childhood curriculum.
It was there that I came to truly understand the importance of the formative years, from birth to age eight, when the foundations for a lifetime of learning, confidence and joy are built.
Miss B’s brings together the early learning approaches I developed in London with new perspectives from my studies in Santa Barbara, California. The result is a program where every child belongs and is seen, heard and loved.
It is the greatest privilege to work with young children. I look forward to welcoming you and your family to Miss B’s the moment our doors open.
A note from Sara
What Happened?
In March 2025, I leased a property on Lillie Avenue in Summerland for one agreed use, “child daycare center and pre-school education,” to open Miss B’s Children’s Club.
Santa Barbara County requires a commercial change of use permit, which depends on the property owner’s approval. I allege that the owners refused to give the sign off the County requires for my permits, so Miss B’s could not open. I would not open a children’s center without the approvals that keep children safe.
In March 2026 the owners served a notice to pay rent or quit, and in April 2026 they took legal action against Miss B’s and me. We now face a costly legal battle to defend ourselves. It never needed to come to this. With respect for the permit process, every issue could have been resolved together.
On April 29, 2026, Miss B’s filed a cross complaint against the owners and their LLC, alleging fraud and concealment. Miss B’s is the third tenant at this property whose tenancy has ended: the first was a hair salon, and the tenant before Miss B’s, Home Crush, has filed its own lawsuit alleging fraud. Neither side’s claims have been decided.
The Journey Ahead
Today, I stand for justice and for a future in which more child development centers can open their doors. That future begins with Miss B’s in Summerland.
Miss B’s was self funded from the very first day, and every dollar needed to open was in place. Those funds have since been consumed by legal fees. And so, I am inviting our community to stand with me: to help bridge the cost of this legal battle, and to see Miss B’s finally open its doors to the children it was created for.

When Miss B’s was drawn into a legal dispute, I searched for help. I found no legal aid for small businesses, no business support, and no one to turn to. I learned that countless small business owners face the same impossible choice: pay legal bills they cannot afford, or walk away and let the truth go unheard, again.
So I created #BEEUnited (Belong, Educate, Empower, Unite), a community initiative to support small business owners, and help Miss B’s open its doors by asking one million people to each donate one dollar: One dollar. One million voices. One open door.
Why One Million?
Justice is expensive. Attorneys generally charge from $450 to over $1,000 per hour.
Miss B’s invested hundreds of thousands of dollars in property improvements and has already incurred over $300,000 in legal bills. Experienced attorneys have estimated a further $500,000 to more than $1 million between now and trial. The court is expected to set a trial date on November 9, 2026, at the next case management conference. Trial is anticipated in 2027 or 2028.
One dollar from one million people will carry Miss B’s to trial, support other small businesses, and welcome children at a Miss B’s pop up while we wait for trial. Together we belong, educate, empower and unite.
