Privacy

Families trust us with their children. This page explains, in plain words, what we collect, why we collect it and how we keep it safe. We collect only what the club needs, and we treat every detail as we would wish our own to be treated.

Who we are

Miss B’s Children’s Club is operated by Miss B Nursery Scopes LLC, a California limited liability company founded by Sara Brennan, and is part of the Miss B family alongside Miss B Nanny. We may be reached at hello@missbclub.com or by post at 2245 Lillie Avenue, Box 394, Summerland, California.

What we collect

When you join the club, choose a membership, book an event, join our mailing list or write to us, we collect the details needed to welcome you well. These include the names and contact details of the parents or guardians, the membership chosen and the fees paid, and the details that make up a child’s B Scope, which are the child’s name, age, date, time and place of birth and, if you wish, a photograph and a note of favourite things. We also keep a record of our conversations with you and of the events and resources you have taken part in.

Children’s information

Children are at the heart of what we do, so their information is handled with particular care. We collect a child’s name, age, date, time and place of birth, and the interests and comforts a parent chooses to share, only from a parent or guardian and only with that person’s consent. We do not collect information directly from a child under thirteen. A parent may ask us at any time to see, correct or delete a child’s information.

B Scopes and birth details

B Scopes uses the date, time and place of birth to read the Sun, Moon and rising signs. On this website the reading is made in your own browser, and nothing is sent to us until you choose to send it. Where a chart is kept with your membership, it is seen only by you and by Miss B.

How we use what we collect

We use your information to run the club and its memberships, events and resources, to write each child’s B Scope and Miss B’s Manners, to take membership fees and donations, to answer your messages, and to keep in touch with news from the Miss B family when you have asked us to. We use it for nothing you would not expect from a children’s club, and we do not sell it.

Who we share it with

We share information only where the club or the service requires it. Our trusted service providers help us run the website, take payments and donations and send email, and each is bound to protect your information and to use it only for us. We share information with the authorities only where the law requires it or where a child’s safety calls for it.

Where it lives and how we keep it safe

Our website runs on Squarespace and is served over a secure connection. Email is handled by Google, and donations to #BEEUnited are taken by Givebutter, which handles the payment details itself. Access to personal information within the club is limited to Miss B and to those who need it to care for your child.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your membership of the club continues and for a reasonable time afterwards, so that we can honour our agreements and meet our legal duties. When it is no longer needed, it is deleted. You may ask us to delete it sooner, and we will, except where the law asks us to keep it.

Your choices and rights

You may ask us at any time what information we hold about you or your child, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or ask us to stop using it for news and updates. Californian residents also have the right to know how their information is used, the right to deletion and correction, the right to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, which we do not do, and the right to be treated no differently for exercising these rights. To make any request, write to hello@missbclub.com. We will answer within the time the law allows, and usually much sooner.

Cookies

We use a few cookies to keep the website running smoothly and to understand how our pages are used. When you first visit, a banner lets you accept them, manage them or decline all but the essentials, and you can change your choice at any time through Cookie Preferences at the foot of every page.

Children under thirteen

This website is written for parents and guardians. We do not knowingly collect information directly from a child under thirteen. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes to this page

We will update this page as Miss B’s Children’s Club grows and as the law changes, and the date at the top will tell you when. If a change affects how we use your information, we will let you know.
